Isola Carolina Park

Green recreation area with games for children and plants of considerable naturalistic interest located in the historic center of Lodi.

Isola Carolina Park is a public park located near Lodi's historical centre, close to Piazza della Vittoria and Piazza Castello.

It was built in the middle of the last century through the financial contribution of Enrico Mattei, who created the park to "thank" the city for the important natural gas fields that had been discovered there.

Mattei ordered plant essences of great botanical interest to be planted that can still be seen today.

The pathways in the Isola Carolina Park - which underwent a substantial redevelopment project in 2010 - form a network of trails that wind their way from Piazzale Matteotti, at the base of the tower, up to the lookout point of Eghezzone hill.
