Palio di Lodi
A characteristic competition between the city's neighborhoods, featuring wooden horses competing in skill and speed contests. The event, organized by the Wasken Boys Club, was founded in 1986 and is recognized as an Italian Heritage Site for its tradition. It is the only Palio in the world where the horses are never lame. The race features jockeys on four-wheeled horses pulled by two athletes. It begins with the rings, a challenge of skill and precision, followed by the colt race, where the youngest riders compete, and culminates with the adult race, where the "baston de San Bassan" is the prize.
The event will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, starting at 3:30 PM in Piazza della Vittoria in Lodi.
